Master volume controls won't display?

try to open it from SOUND in the CONTROL PANEL. and check it...if it doesn't work, then try unistalling and reinstalling the sound driver. and if it doesn't work (if your sound card is pci) then reinstall the card and try restarting the computer. also try to scan with an anti-virus to c if this is not a virus.
