Would a 24 hour greyhound bus ride be risky?

I would ume so, but I'm desperate enough. My grandmother has cancer and she is a state and a half away from me. The only mode of transportation I can afford which will take me directly from my town to hers is by greyhound bus. I've never ridden one, and this one will be about 23 hours long. Are they dangerous? I'm willing to do it but I don't want to die or anything (I'm also a small eighteen year old female who is likely prone to attract creepy predators/admirers)
